When you think about it, over the years it has simply gotten easier and easier to obtain free copies of movies, television shows, and music over the years as Ares technology is allowing simple people like you and me to get a hold of this stuff for free. I mean, check out this headline I saw online – “Gday Dudes Australian Pirates Blamed for Simpsons Copy”. It had something do to with the Australian government cracking down on some poor bloke that copied a movie with his phone and put it on the Internet. Perhaps governments and film and movie companies should take a look at making stuff affordable to buy or making downloads cheap. I wonder how much money they’d make if they got in on the action rather than trying to squash the few people they find.

Some Tactics to Stop Illegal Downloads May Back Fire

People who want to crack down on illegal file sharing are taking advantage of mediadefender entrapment and lies to accomplish what they want. Unfortunately, those who are not involved in copyright infringement will end up getting caught as well. It is a tactic that seeks to get the bad guys even at the expense of innocent casualties. There has to be a better way to stop the illegal activity which has lead to this type of solution. Really, this is not the best solution because what if those who were erroneously charged and/or fined decide to file their own lawsuit against those companies?
